New Payment Processor: NSCF will be moving from PayPal to Stripe as a new payment processor for donations. This will in no way affect the method you must use to submit donations, or the amount received by the project. 

S.S. Nenana contract: The Friends of SS Nenana garnered enough donations to establish a contract with the FNSB Parks and Rec for repairing the rudder of the S.S. Nenana. FNSB has been working on the main deck of the sternwheeler, which was opened to the public in May. The Friends group is staffing Cabin 32, next to the sternwheeler, providing interpretive services and collecting donations for further improvements. NSCF is receiving a $500,000 appropriation through the efforts of Senator Lisa Murkowski. Fiscal management will be in partnership with the accounting arm of National Park Service.

New Grants for Reentry Coalition: The Fairbanks Reentry Coalition has secured two additional grants that will provide housing, utilities and educational scholarships/union dues to those transitioning from incarceration to productive lives. So far this year, Marsha Oss, program coordinator, has assisted over 60 clients.

Christmas fundraiser for NSCF: It’s not too early to think about Christmas wrapping at the Bentley Mall in mid-December as part of the NSCF fundraising efforts in partnership with the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. NSCF may  also plan to conduct a board meeting there as well.
