Your North Star Community Foundation

The North Star Community Foundation (NSCF) improves the quality of life for Fairbanks North Star Borough and interior region through philanthropy, community development, and public service.

Pick, Click, Give.

Pick. Click. Give: a valuable resource for the Fairbanks community.

Pick. Click. Give

Pick. Click. Give.

These three simple words turn out to be a valuable source of support for the North Star Community Foundation.  Last year we made an effort to call attention to the fact that North Star Borough residents can elect to support the Foundation when filling out their Dividend Fund application.  That resulted in a significant increase in PCG donations to NSCF.

Fairbanks Skateboard CoalitionFairbanks Skate Park Coalition was formed in April 2016 by a group of action sport riders who want to create safe, fun skate parks in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. Since that time, they have gained non-profit status, assisted in designing and refurbishing the North Pole Skate Park and then hosted a grand opening and competition.

Stars Of Gold Readers (SOGR) works to remove barriers, expand opportunities, and assist families and school staff members in supporting strong literacy success. Providing books and activities which affirm all identities and reflect the diversity of our global society increases the likelihood of life-long readers. Children are more likely to engage with books when they see themselves reflected on the page. Stars of Gold Readers is reviewing and purchasing books that will help children see themselves and others in a positive way.

Our goal is to develop an anti-bias toolkit for family workshops and classes for educators to use with children. Titles will include the themes of Alaska Native/American Indian, African American, LGBTQ+, Disabilities, and Under-Represented People and Families.

Your support to purchase these materials and make them available to the community is appreciated! You can provide that support by submitting a donation through our donation page.
