The mission of Diidivee (which translates as “our path”) is to carry forward the traditional Gwich’in way of life, language, and culture through the creation of rich educational resources and materials for future generations.
Diidivee is a group of dedicated, knowledgeable, experienced, and caring educators with the ability to carry out the objectives and goals of the mission. Our Gwich’in language and culture is highly endangered, and there exists today an urgent need among young people for ancestral teachings. We believe that traditional language and culture will give support and encouragement to young people, and place in their hearts an enduring knowledge of their history & identity, and what a rich legacy they are heirs to.
