In celebration of the 100th anniversary, the Lt. Governor of Kiwanis has asked local Kiwanis Clubs to join together in an effort to build a playground for the Tanana Lakes Recreation Area called the Kiwanis Clubs of Fairbanks Centennial Playground. Tanana Lakes Recreation area is a great place to play outside in the midnight sun, however the lake is missing a safe place for kids to play. Local Kiwanis Clubs plan on purchasing and installing playground equipment that is suitable for kids’ ages 3-12 years and is handicap accessible. The playground equipment will have a safe surface so if kids fall they do not get seriously injured.
To get this safe playground at Tanana Lakes up and running Kiwanis Clubs need $150,000 for purchase of the playground equipment. Help make Tanana Lakes a fun, safe place for all ages!
The North Star Community Foundation is proud to be supporting the effort. You can, too, by donating to our fund that will help acquire the needed playground equipment.
