The Chena Tool Library enhances self sufficiency, community resiliency and neighborly relations by supporting DIY endeavors through sharing tools, knowledge and skills.

Fairbanks is a community of do-it-yourselfers, from homebuilding to car repair to chicken raising. However, not everyone can afford all the tools needed for these endeavors, nor does everyone have the space to store them or even the desire to own them for infrequent or one-time use.

Support the Chena Tool Library with a Donation.

We are the water keepers — the Friends of Fox Spring. We are actively working together to protect a precious community water resource: our Fox Spring.

The state has operated Fox Spring for more than 50 years and thousands of local citizens depend on this supply of good water. Interior Alaskans understand the state budget constraints and the need for financial contributions, and Friends of Fox Spring gladly accept that responsibility.

The Fairbanks Housing and Homeless Coalition (FHHC) is an association of community members and organizations joining forces to eliminate homelessness in the Fairbanks North Star Borough. The 1994 Task Force on Homelessness has grown into a coalition of over 30 agencies providing lifesaving services to Fairbanks’ homeless and at-risk populations that endure the harshest of conditions and a struggling economy. The coalition’s January 2017 Point In Time (PIT) count assessed well over 200 currently homeless individuals in Fairbanks.
