North Star Community Foundation 5K
Welcome to ‘The 555’ North Star Community Foundation 5K walk/run September 5th at Tanana Lakes Recreation Area. NSCF is focusing on opportunities to give to the community in ways important to you.
“The 555” 5th
- a 5k loop around the Tanana Lakes Recreation Area
- on Saturday, September 5th
- with activities starting at 5pm, the walk/run begins at 5:55pm
This inaugural event is similar to former community charity walks but patterned off the Alaska Community Foundation’s High 5 campaign, where donors pledge 5% of planned giving to causes supported by the Foundation.
You can register with a donation and name a local non-profit organization you would like your registration to support. Enlist your friends to register, even if just as a virtual supporter of your favorite non-profit collectively.
The first $5 of every registered donation will go to NSCF. Any amount beyond $5 will go to the NSCF project or local non-profit agency that best fits your reason for giving. The featured NSCF project this month is to support the opening of the Fairbanks Warming Center October 1st.
North Star Community Foundation hopes this will be an enjoyable way to generate support for the non-profit sector. In turn, we will give you a “High 5”.
REGISTER
Your registration is completed as an individual. As you complete the loop, you may identify yourself as part of a group supporting a particular non-profit, a member project of the Foundation, or the new warming center opening October 1st. All entries, whether for virtual or in-person are completed as individuals.
